Though previous talks to appear in the live-action version of Dumbo have fallen through, another Disney collaboration may be in the mix for Will Smith.

According to Deadline, the actor is currently in talks to play “The Genie” in an upcoming live-action remake of Aladdin, directed by Guy Ritchie. The role, previously brought to life in the animated feature by the late great Robin Williams, is perfect for Will, considering his musical and comedic skills.

John August of Big Fish has penned the new script based on the 1992 animated hit, which grossed $504 million. The film is set to start shooting in July in the U.K. for an estimated 6 months.
