Oh No! Cuba Gooding Sr. Dies From Possible Overdose
We’re sad to report that Cuba Gooding Jr.’s dad, Cuba Gooding Sr., was found dead today due to a possible overdose, reports are saying.
According to TMZ, the 72-year old lead singer of the 1970s soul group The Main Ingredient was found dead in his car in the San Fernando Valley.
Authorities say he was “slumped over in his silver Jaguar,” parked on Ventura Blvd. While the fire department responded swiftly and attempted CPR, the singer was not responsive and couldn’t be resuscitated.
The Main Ingredient’s Grammy-nominated single, “Everybody Plays the Fool,” made it all the way to No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1972.
Cuba Sr. is survived by his wife Shirley and their four kids.
