Marvel’s upcoming sequel, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is action-packed fun, but Chris Pratt’s favorite thing about it may surprise you.

In the movie, Kurt Russell plays the estranged father of Chris’s character, Star-Lord. The story focuses on the father and son getting to know one another, while fighting evil forces, of course. At the film’s Hollywood premiere, Chris told Vanity Fair:

“What I really love the most about the sequel is that it focuses on the themes of family. The movie has a lot of action and funny jokes, but it’s the father/son dynamic that gives the movie meaning and takes it to another level.”

The 37-year-old star opened up about his close relationship with his own dad, who died from multiple sclerosis in 2014. He shared:

“Primarily, he told me if you want to do something, do it, and to always work hard. There were a lot of times where I thought I couldn’t make it as an actor, but he taught me to be tough and thick-skinned. Because of him, I am where I am today. He also talked a lot about karma. What goes around comes around, and that’s something that I believe in.”
