If you’re looking for dirt on Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom is not your guy.

The actor opened up about his breakup with his former flame for the very first time in the May issue of ELLE UK, and kept things very positive. He said:

“We’re friends. It’s good. We’re all grown-up. She happens to be someone who is very visible, but I don’t think anybody cares about what I’m up to. Nor should they. It’s between us. It’s better to set an example for kids and show that [breakups] don’t have to be about hate.”

The Pirates of the Caribbean star’s sentiments echoed Katy’s tweet about their split last month. She wrote:

“U can still b friends & love ur former partners! No one’s a victim or a villain, get a life y’all!”

Katy wasn’t the only breakup Orlando addressed. He touched on his very pubic divorce with ex-wife Miranda Kerr as well. He said:

“With Miranda, there was a sense that I don’t want my son to go back through the internet where people made up lies. Miranda and I have a remarkable relationship. We co-parent really well.”
