Chris Evans has hinted for years about his tap-dancing ability, but he’s been all talk and no action. Until now.

The actor stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Monday to promote his new movie Gifted, and was joined by his costar, McKenna Grace. The 10-year-old plays his niece in the film, an clearly she’s got some clout with Chris. When McKenna told Ellen that she loves to dance, Ellen pointed to Chris and said, “You know, he took tap.” McKenna replied, “Yes, I do know that. He did promise me he would tap dance for me sometime.”

Though it was clear he didn’t want to, how can you say no to a cheering crowd and a 10-year-old saying, “Please! I won’t make you if you don’t want to. But it would be amazing!

Chris had told E! News back in July 2011, “We grew up tap-dancing. My mother was a dancer for a long time. We had a tap floor in our basement. So, my brothers and sisters and I got lessons. We were the Von Trapps.”
