Neil Patrick Harris’s Sweet Anniversary Message to Husband David Burtka
They may have married on April 1st, but there was nothing foolish about it!
Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka just had a wedding anniversary, and Neil took to Instagram to give a sweet shoutout to his partner in crime. He wrote, “Thirteen years and one day ago, I crossed paths with the guy on the left. The adventures have never ceased. The love has never waned. The gifts are never ending (the guy on the right, e.g.). Happy Anniversary, @dbelicious. You’re the best.” See the cute pic below:
Though Neil and David have been together for thirteen years, they have been married for only two. The couple exchanged vows in an intimate ceremony in Italy in September of 2014. Neil explained that they decided to make it official for their kids. He told The View at the time, “I think when our kids got to the age where they were having reasonable conversations — where they’re asking lots of ‘why’ questions — then it seemed like to be able to have a real clear-cut explanation of who their daddy is. I think it’s great [to say], ‘He’s my husband.'”
The couples 6-year-old twins, Harper and Gideon, were an integral part of the the wedding. Neil said, “They were fun. Harper was the flower girl. Gideon was supposed to be the ring bearer. He said, ‘I’m the orange boy.’ We said, ‘What in the world is an orange boy?’ He explained this whole thing that he comes down with a basket of oranges and he hands the oranges to everyone [at the wedding].”
Not sure this family could be any cuter!
