Leave it to our ladies at The View for getting the truth about rumors surrounding Alex Rodriguez and Jennifer Lopez.

The retired baseball player appeared on the show this morning to talk soup and spill tea, and he gave us everything wanted (and more). Of course he did, the guy knows how to swing! (baseball reference)

“It’s obvious,” he said when asked. “We’re having a great time, she’s an amazing, amazing girl, and one of the smartest human beings I’ve ever met and also an incredible mother.”

According to a source at People, the couple have been dating for a few weeks. since the news broke, they’ve been spotted together several times, including leaving lunch at Marea today in New York City — we guess he was hungry after dishing all morning on The View!

“She just likes simple things. I mean, she’s a very, very simple person. Loves family. Is a great sister. Is a great daughter,” he elaborated. Also, he went on to say that her favorite foods are chocolate chip ice cream and chocolate chip cookies. Looks like someone has been having a little dessert in bed, eh?
