Watch: A New Clip From Amy Schumer & Goldie Hawn’s ‘Snatched’

We’re getting more and more excited for Amy Schumer and Goldie Hawn’s collaborative film Snatched, which opens on Mother’s Day weekend (May 12).

In a new exclusive clip provided by Entertainment Weekly, the Jonathan Levine-directed movie is definitely giving us all the funnies, with an extra dose on the side!

The movie is about a recently dumped woman who drags her scaredy-cat mom on a trip to Ecuador. Needless to say, they encounter various adventure along the way. In the above scene, the two just arrived to South America.

“What I really like about this scene is that it’s based in character,” director Jonathan Levine told EW. “It’s got these character beats of Goldie being afraid and passive aggressively judging Amy for not being prepared for the trip. Goldie is the over-protective mom, pulling out this thing but then there’s also a little bit of confusion — it’s not a rape whistle, it’s a dog whistle. My mom gets confused in that way. This mode for Goldie is a great one as an actress — just playing confusion, she does it incredibly well.”

He continued: “It’s so great to see these two together. They both have this innate ability to be both naturalistic and sell a joke. There’s not many comedians who can do that. This scene is an example of each of them doing it very, very well.”
