Though it’s not even been a full year since American Idol ended after 15 seasons on the air, a reboot is possibly already in the works. So, how does one make the reboot even more epic than the original? With Kanye West, of course.

RadarOnline.com reports that NBC has their eye on the rapper to be a potential judge for the singing competition, and according to their anonymous source, he is at “the very top of the wish list,” even above Simon Cowell. Apparently the force behind the idea is Ryan Seacrest, the Keeping Up with the Kardashians executive producer and former host of American Idol. The source said, “Ryan Seacrest has put his name forward during his negotiations to come back as host and NBC are salivating over it. It’s not an easy gig, but the offer he’s got is proving to be very hard to refuse.”

Well, that it may be, but only in theory.  A source close to Kanye told TMZ that the matter has not even been discussed. The source said, “There is no conversation with Kanye West to join ‘American Idol’ or any other show for that matter.”

We’ll keep you posted!
