We’ve heard about crimes of passions, but apparently this one was a crime of volume.

Sonia Bryce of Willenhall, England, decided to play Ed Sheeran’s catchy hit song, “Shape of You” at high volume for about 30 minutes, which prompted complaints from her neighbors. British channel ITV reported that because the 36-year-old had been previously arrested for breaching a court order from her landlords preventing her from making too much noise, the woman was arrested and sentenced to 8 weeks in prison.

The judge felt that Sonia had created a “wholly unacceptable level of disturbance,” justifying the sentence, and told Sonia, “You must learn that you should behave as a reasonable and responsible adult and not make life for your neighbors the misery that you have. Everybody is entitled to live in a degree of peace and quiet with the usual give and take of society, but you do not behave like a civilized person, and you have got to learn that you will.”

Oddly, The Telegraph reported that as part of her defense in court, Sonia said that she “does not actually like Ed Sheeran that much.”

We’d hate to see what she does when she’s REALLY into a song!
