It’s “case closed” for Kanye!

According to Page Six, the rapper just settled $2.5 million lawsuit out of court on Monday. The agreement was reached just two days prior to his scheduled deposition for the matter.

The charges, which were presented back in May of 2016, revolve around his 2013 hit, “New Slaves” from the album, Yeezus. Gabor Presser, a Hungarian composer, claimed Kanye had used a minute and 15 second “sample” from his 1996 song, “Gyöngyhajú Lány” (“The Girl with Pearly Hair”) in his “New Slaves” track. Gabor said he learned about the use of his material when the song was used to promote the album, and reached out to Kanye’s people to settle the matter at that time. The composer said he was never given a licensing agreement, and only received a $10,000 check that he did not cash.

After great efforts to negotiate a deal, Gabor filed a $2.5 million copyright infringement lawsuit. The trial would have begun on May 15.

Details of the agreement are not available.
