Happy Anniversary My Cousin Vinny.

Twenty-five years ago today, the film was released, and we’ve never been the same, thanks to Joe Pesci and Marisa Tomei’s amazing performances.

According to Twitter:

“Since its release in 1992, the comedy starring Joe Pesci and Marisa Tomei has become an educational staple for law schools and practicing attorneys across the U.S.”

The director of the movie, Jonathan Lynn, has a law degree from Cambridge University.  He said this in the DVD commentary, according to MentalFloss.com:

“I get terribly irritated when I see films in which the legal procedure is obviously wrong. I’m very pleased with the fact that, although this is heightened for comedic purposes, everything you see legally in this film could happen and is approximately correct, Which, by the way, makes it the more frightening.”

The film is often used in law schools because it holds up with facts and it’s entertaining.

Marisa won the Oscar for best-supporting actress at the 65th Academy Awards for her role.
