It’s no secret that the words “tattoo” and “regret” frequently go hand in hand. Apparently Chance the Rapper learned that the hard way.

The “Same Drugs” rapper told Katie Couric in an exclusive interview that he only has one tattoo, and he really wishes he didn’t!

“It’s a backwards tattoo. It says, ‘Get back to work,’” he said. “Basically, it’s a reminder that I’m not doing enough.” He continued, “It’s so stupid. I hate it now. It’s like, why did I get this?”

The tattoo, written backwards so he can read it when he looks in the mirror, is on his chest, right above his heart. Fortunately for him, he manages it hide it most of the time.  Though he had not planned to ink himself, he says he made the decision “on a whim” while in Germany. Maybe youth was to blame, as he tells Katie “I got it when I was 21.” Clearly he has learned a lot in the 2 whole years since then, as the 23-year-old added, “Definitely not getting any more tattoos.”
