Aww! Amber Tamblyn and David Cross Welcome Their First Child!
Amber Tamblyn and David Cross have welcomed a baby girl, and have shared the news in an adorable, hilarious, and empowering way,
The couple took to Instagram to post a sweet video showing a tiny baby foot moving around in a blanket. The actress wrote, “David and I are proud to announce the birth of our daughter, Dauphinoise Petunia Brittany Scheherazade Von Funkinstein Mustard Witch RBG Cross Tamblyn-Bey jr.” LOL! No word yet on the baby’s actual name. Take a look:
She concluded the caption with “#TheFutureIsFemale”, a nod to her impassioned views on the current challenges facing women today. Amber had announced her pregnancy back in October via an essay she wrote for Glamour, emphasizing the importance of the mother/daughter relationship in bringing changes to the way women are treated and regarded. She wrote:
“Motherhood has been heavily on my mind because I am going to be a mother soon. I’m pregnant, with a daughter on the way. I think constantly about the world I am bringing her into.”
She continued:
“I’ve been thinking about motherhood a lot lately. What it means to be one, what it means to have one, what it means to know one, what it means to make decisions as one and have conversations as one. I am very lucky to be surrounded by strong mothers, from my own mom to some of my best friends ― those who are raising young women to accept themselves and those who are raising young men to accept women.”
Amber, 33, and David, 52, have been married since 2012.
