Tracy Morgan is back, baby!

The hilarious star makes his return to the limelight in Fist Fight, a comedic film about high school on the last day of school before summer vacation starts.

This role marks Tracy’s first since his horrific car accident in 2014, and getting back in the swing of things wasn’t easy. He told The Huffington Post, “I struggled at first because I didn’t know if I had my comedic timing or if my instincts were there, and I was afraid.” He went on, “I had to face my fears. I didn’t know. I was on the couch for a year and three months. I hadn’t been active. So to come back and do that, I had a cast and director around me that supported me and gave me the comfort and love that I needed to move forward. And that’s what I did.”

The 48-year-old comedian said that director Richie Keen, and fellow cast members, including Ice Cube, Jillian Bell and Charlie Day, were extremely supportive throughout the process.

Tracy has been busy getting back to business these days, appearing on Saturday Night Live recently, and working on a pilot with comedian Jordan Peele. His comedy special, “Stayin’ Alive” is set to debut on Netflix on May 16th.

Fist Fight is currently in theaters.

You go, Tracy! So glad you’re back!
