What! Donald Glover is Playing Simba in Disney’s Live Action ‘Lion King’

Yes you read right, there will be a live-action remake of Disney’s The Lion King and Donald Glover will play the epic role of “Simba,” joining James Earl Jones who will reprise his role as “Mufasa.”

Director Jon Favreau revealed the casting notice last night on social media. Disney itself announced the live-action remake after The Jungle Book became a box office success, and producers say that The Lion King will have similar performance-capture technology and computer-generated imagery to bring animal characters to life.

And yes, there will be original songs from the 1994 movie.
