Chance the Rapper Turned Down $10M Advance, Chooses to Stay Independent

How cool is it that Chance the Rapper won a Best New Artist Grammy, yet he doesn’t have a record label! And word on the street is he doesn’t want one and that he’s doing just fine by himself — good for you, Chance!

An insider told Page Six, “Every label is still trying to get him. He’s making too much on his own … He was turning down $5 million advances before, and now it’s like $10 million. He may do something with Apple, but not a label per se … He is going to remain independent.”

Chance is managed by 26-year old Patrick Cocrcoran, while his Creative Artist Agency rep (a really big agency!) Cara Lewis still makes deals for him.

We at HH say if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Go ‘head Chance!
