Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa were co-hosts of Live with Regis and Kelly for nearly a decade, but unfortunately the two have not kept in contact since Regis’ departure.

In an interview with Larry King, Regis goes into detail about his strained relationship with Kelly since signing from the show in 2011, of which he spent nearly 28 years.

“She got very offended when I left,” Regis explained. “She thought I was leaving because of her. I was leaving because I was getting older and it wasn’t right for me anymore.”

Regis also shared that producers of the show never (that’s right, NEVER) asked him to come back — not even for a little visit.

Larry asked, “She took it personal?” Then Regis answered, “Yeah I think so. That was 11 years ago.”

When asked if he ever heard from Kelly, Regis said, “Never have.”

This is definitely coming as a surprise seeing as how Regis also shared that before their final show, he hugged Kelly on the way to the studio and said, “Every morning I’ll think about this,” to which Kelly said, “Thank you for everything. I love you.”

Clearly Kelly has a thing about people leaving the show, it’s not exactly her first time getting a tad bit sensitive of early departures — ahem Michael Strahan.
