La La Land had a huge night at the BAFTRA awards, winning 6 awards. But sadly, not everyone got to celebrate.

Ryan Gosling, who was nominated for “Best Actor in a Leading Role” for the film, was unable to attend the ceremony at   the Royal Albert Hall in London. Producer Marc Platt told the press backstage before the event that, “Unfortunately, Ryan had to stay in LA to attend to a family matter. He is regretful that he could not be here, ” according to The Metro. He added, “He’s sorry not to be here this evening but sends everyone his appreciation and congratulations on the film.”

Though he missed the film receiving “Best Film”, “Best Director”, “Best Original Music and Cinematography”, and his costar, Emma Stone, winning “Best Actress”, his focus was on his family. The 36-year-old actor is married to Eva Mendes, and the couple has 2 children.

We hope everything is ok, and we are wishing them well!
