OMG, is This REALLY James Franco?!
So the film, The Room, made in 2003, rose to major fame for an odd reason: it was deemed one of the worst films ever made. For whatever reason, people glommed onto it, and turned it into a massive cult classic, just because it was so awful! The film spawned many interactive screenings, several books, and even a documentary. Now, finally, we get to see a movie about the book about the movie. What?
James Franco stars in The Disaster Artist, which tells the story of the making of The Room. In it he plays ‘Tommy Wiseau’, the writer, director and star of the original film. James’ brother, Dave, plays ‘Greg Sestero’, the other lead actor in The Room.
Confused yet? So are we, because apparently this is James Franco!
Clearly we have to get to the bottom of all this!
The Disaster Artist is set to premier at SXSW this March in Austin, Texas.
