Shia LeBeouf’s “He Will Not Divide Us” live-stream (previously reported by Hollywood Holler) has gotten the attention of hate groups: namely Nazis and white supremacists.

And yesterday, the actor was arrested in Queens for defending unity and equality after he reportedly punched a white supremacist screaming hate speech.

TMZ reports that the man in question came up to Shia’s camera and said something anti-Semitic. That’s when Shia grabbed his scarf and allegedly scratched him in the process, so the NYPD arrested him.

This was the “scuffle”:

“How are we gonna make this sh*t ok to be a Nazi out here?” Shia said into the camera. “That’s bullsh*t, bro. It’s not ok. He will not divide us.”

Shortly after, #FreeShia was trending on Twitter in support of the actor, many of whom said he (a Jewish man) was simply standing up to a Nazi and defending his friends.

The hashtag seemed to work because Shia was released this morning, giving a “rock on” sign, and screaming: “We will not be divided!”
