The original Mrs. Potts,  Angela Lansbury, is a little confused as to why Disney is doing a live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast?

In an interview with EW at the 25th Anniversary event,  Angela said it’s was absolutely strange to think about someone else playing all of the different roles in the film.

The legendary 91-year-old actress also said this:

“I was a bit taken aback, naturally, I thought, Why? Why are we doing this over again?’ But I guess, I don’t know why they’re doing it. But they are, and it will be interesting to see what they do with it.”

Mrs. Potts doesn’t seem thrilled, but she’s supportive of one role in particular.

“These are live action pieces and I know very well the actress who’s playing Mrs. Potts and she’s a very good friend of mine. It’s Emma Thompson.”
